Blurry vision can happen for many reasons. In people with diabetes, changing blood sugar may temporarily affect vision, and diabetes can also increase the risk of serious eye disease.
Do not use new glasses as a substitute for medical evaluation when symptoms are new, sudden, painful, or worsening. Contact an eye doctor or seek urgent care for sudden vision loss, flashes, new floaters, eye pain, or injury.
Regular comprehensive dilated eye exams are important for people with diabetes. Your provider can tell you how often you need exams based on your health and eye history.
If your prescription changes often, ask your provider whether your vision is stable enough to order new glasses. Stable prescription data helps reduce remake risk.
